Before Your Appointment

PERMANENT MAKEUP/TATTOOING IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR:

  • Diabetic (physician’s written approval required)
  • Undergoing Chemotherapy (consult with physician)
  • Viral infections (communicable diseases)
  • Botox or fillers within 2 weeks (14 days) prior to appointment
  • Had an organ transplant (consult with physician)
  • Epilepsy
  • Currently sick with a cold or flu-like virus
  • Used Accutane in the past 6 months - 1 year.
  • Pregnant or Nursing
  • Within 2 weeks before/after COVID-19 Vaccination

IN PREPARATION FOR YOUR EYEBROW (PMU) APPOINTMENT:

  • Discontinue the use of exfoliant products such as AHA, Retinol, glycolic acids, etc on the eyebrow area 2 WEEKS prior to your appointment.
  • NO waxing or brow shaping within 48 hours of your appointment.
  • NO eyebrow tinting within 1 WEEK prior to your appointment.
  • Botox or cosmetic fillers should be done AT LEAST 2 WEEKS before/after.
  • DO NOT consume alcohol, caffeine or take any anti-coagulants (blood thinners such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or Niacin) within 48 hours before your procedure. This will cause excess bleeding and may affect your results. You may take these medications once your procedure has been completed.
  • You are welcome to arrive with your eyebrows pre drawn, or bring a photo to show how you normally would fill in your eyebrows.  This is especially important for clients who desire a specific brow shape. Of course, I am more than happy to help design a custom brow suited to you!
  • You may experience hypersensitivity and more pain around or during your menstrual cycle, especially the days leading up to/following your cycle.
  • For added comfort I do offer pre-numbing for eyebrow procedures. If you wish to apply numbing to your eyebrow area yourself prior to your appointment, please speak with me and I would be more than happy to make recommendations as necessary. THIS ONLY PERTAINS TO EYEBROW PERMANENT PROCEDURES. DO NOT APPLY NUMBING TO AREAS FOR OTHER SERVICES WITHOUT SPEAKING WITH ME FIRST!
  • We will not be able to tattoo over any broken skin such as active breakouts/blemishes, sores, or moles within/around the brow area.

IN PREPARATION FOR YOUR LIP BLUSH APPOINTMENT:

YOUR LIPS MUST NOT BE DRY/CHAPPED for your appointment. If your lips are dry, I will need to reschedule your session and you will be charged a cancellation fee.  It is recommended to exfoliate 3 DAYS prior to your appointment to remove any dry/dead skin - use a lip scrub or make your own using a little olive/coconut oil and sugar. ONE WEEK PRIOR to your appointment you MUST moisturize your lips DAILY (Take an extra step and try using Aquaphor in place of your usual lip balm).

*IMPORTANT*
Cold sores are a RISK of lip blush tattooing.  If you have had a cold sore in the past (even just ONCE) it is advised you consult with a physician (of which we can provide through The Hill Centre) and be perscribed an anti-viral medication PRIOR to any lip procedure. This will help avoid an outbreak.

If you have not had a cold sore before, I also recommend any clients take L-lysine (if they are able) for 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO & 2 WEEKS FOLLOWING their appointment to reduce the risk.

IN PREPARATION FOR YOUR PARAMEDICAL TATTOO APPOINTMENT:

  • Discontinue the use of exfoliant products such as AHA, glycolic acids, retinol, etc. on area 2 WEEKS prior to your appointment.
  • NO waxing or use of chemical hair removal products within 48 hours of your appointment.
  • Moisturize your skin! Apply lotion daily for AT LEAST 1 WEEK leading up to your appointment.
  • Botox or cosmetic fillers should be done AT LEAST 2 - 4 WEEKS before/after.
  • DO NOT consume alcohol, caffeine or take any anti-coagulants (blood thinners such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or Niacin) within 48 hours before your procedure. This will cause excess bleeding and may affect your results. You may take these medications once your procedure has been completed.
  • Keep hydrated! Hydrated skin is happy skin, and is best for tattooing.
  • You may experience hypersensitivity and more pain around or during your menstrual cycle, especially the days leading up to/following your cycle.
  • For added comfort I do offer pre-numbing when necessary select procedures. If you wish to apply numbing yourself prior to your appointment, please speak with me first and I would be more than happy to make recommendations, as necessary. DO NOT APPLY NUMBING WITHOUT SPEAKING WITH ME FIRST! Some products are not acceptable for paramedical tattooing.
  • We will not be able to tattoo/microneedle over any broken skin such as active breakouts/blemishes, sores, or moles.
  • If you have a history of anxiety or are struggling with trauma surrounding your circumstance for this procedure please discuss this during your consult/in-person assessment so I can do my best to accommodate.
